Are you over-using your acne spot treatments? A lot of us do.

An annoying pimple appears, you apply your spot treatment… and apply, and apply again.

Most spot treatments are meant to be applied only two or three times a day. Many of us apply that much before lunch, hoping to hurry the healing along. But over-applying can leave a dry, flaky, irritated spot, and won't necessarily clear the pimple any faster.

Spot treatments can help a pimple heal more quickly, but expecting the blemish to be gone within a matter of hours isn't realistic. Always follow the directions on your spot treatment label, and give it a day or so before expecting to see results.
