Guide Review - Clearasil StayClear Oil-Free Gel Acne Wash

Looking for a basic, uncomplicated foaming cleanser? This is it. Clearasil is the quintessential acne treatment skin care brand, and this cleansing wash is no exception. It’s easy to find at almost any retailer, and easy on the pocketbook too (I found it for about than $5.)

It lathers well, rinses away easily and doesn’t leave a film on the face. It also contains 2% salicylic acid to help fight breakouts and blackheads.

In a sea of seemingly feminine skin care products, teen boys especially appreciate the blue color of both the packaging and the cleanser itself. The smell is nice too -- not too strong but clean. Definitely not flowery or “girly,” as one teen boy stated.

I really liked the wide pump top. It made it easy to dispense the product even with damp hands.

Some people, myself included, found the cleanser to be a little too drying for regular use. For those with oilier skin types, this probably wouldn’t be a problem.

All in all, this is a great acne wash that teens especially will like. If you're in the market for a simple, inexpensive cleanser that lathers well leaves your face feeling clean, you’ll be pleased with this product.
