Definition: A combination of benzoyl peroxide (5%) and clindamycin (1%), used topically to treat mild to moderate acne vulgaris. BenzaClin works by killing the bacteria responsible for inflamed acne breakouts. It also may decrease the inflammation from acne lesions and may help dry oily skin common in patients with acne. BenzaClin is available by prescription only.
