Definition: Glands found within the dermis that produce the skin's natural oil, or sebum. The sebaceous glands pump sebum into the hair follicle, where it then travels to the surface of the skin. The human body has the majority of its sebaceous glands on the face, neck, chest, scalp, back, and upper arms.
