Definition:

The removal of dead skin cells, either physically by means of abrasive ingredients or implements (i.e. scrubs, cleansing pads), or chemically, using enzymes or acids (i.e. alpha and beta hydroxy acids, retinoids.)

Regular exfoliation improves acne by inhibiting the formation of blackheads and blemishes.
