So, my last post dealt with different types of sunscreen and how you can choose one that is right for you. But I didn't realize there is actually another sunscreen option -- powder mineral sunscreen -- until I read this blog post by Jen Adkins, our About.com Guide to Skin Care.
Powder mineral sunscreen is similar to mineral makeup, but you can get it without color and coverage. The coolest thing is it's a dry powder, so it doesn't feel greasy or oily on your skin. If you've always stayed away from typical sunscreen because you just can handle the way it feels on your face, this option may be perfect for you. The powder would actually make your skin look less oily, not more.
I would think these dry sunscreen products would be less likely to break you out, although I'd need to do some more research, delve deeper into the ingredients, and try a few products myself to be sure.
Still, I think it's a great idea and I can't wait to try some out. Jen Adkins has a few of her favorite powder mineral sunscreen brands listed, so I'll probably start there. I'll let you know what I think of them.
