I'm In Love with Glycolic Acid

When you're young, you can't fathom getting older. But, as I'm learning, aging happens whether you're ready for it or not. Where did all this fine lines come from? Seriously, acne and wrinkles?

So a few weeks ago I started with an OTC glycolic acid cream. And, so far, I really like it! At least my skin looks brighter and feels much softer. Those little bumps seems to be smoothing out too. Lots of adult acne treatments contain glycolic acid because of this.

Jen Adkins, our About.com Guide to Skin Care, has a great article all about glycolic acid, how it works, and what it can do for your skin. This is a great guide, especially if you're new to alpha-hydroxy acids.

Glycolic acid isn't the only thing that treats both acne and aging skin, though. If you're looking for something really tough, you might even consider topical retinoids. You can only get these through your doctor, but they are super effective against breakouts and are great anti-agers.
