New iPhone App for Treating Acne

By , About.com Guide   January 16, 2010

Follow me on:

You really can do anything with your iPhone! Even treat acne.

Yes, you read that right. Apparently, there is a new iPhone app you can purchase that supposedly helps you clear acne as you talk on the phone. Blown away? I was too.

Called AcneApp, it's meant to turn your iPhone into a miniature version of a professional light treatment. Once on, the iPhone will alternately send out both blue and red light, in theory zapping zits while you chat with your BFF. AcneApp is the brain-child of Houston based dermatologist, Greg Pearson, MD.

The idea behind AcneApp is based in science. Many dermatologists use blue light therapy to treat acne. It's thought to kill the bacterium that contribute to acne breakouts. Red light therapy can be used to treat inflammation.

But before you get to excited over this latest innovation, know that effectiveness of AcneApp has not been proven, and it isn't FDA approved. There is also no way of knowing the specific wavelength coming from your own iPhone.

Skeptical? I am. But I am totally intrigued by the concept. And who knows? Maybe in the future we will be treating many medical conditions with our cell phones.

iFace Acne Cure was on Fox News, it uses the same technology as they use at the dermatologist’s office and does the same thing as a similar gadget for about $100 bucks. It utilizes Light Wave Frequency. The Blue Light Frequency Sterilizes and the Red LIght Frequency reduces swelling. I just purchased it myself and a bunch of my friends already have it. It is incredible and the best part is that although it becomes an iPhone App, it WORKS ON ALL INTERNET READY PHONES!!! I only paid $1.77 yep it’s not a typo.

That’s so cool. I saw this on Fox News also, I was just rolling my eyes, but I watched the videos and they looked convencing. I decided to try it. The link to get it is iface.us/Acne

So I have a little report. I tested it, since unfortunately I do acne. I hope I’m not imagine this, but about three days ago I started using it, and my acne went flat and the swelling disappeared and now I only have a little pink mark as a reminder. I really think it works. I will be testing it further. (Note: I did see some apps online for 99 centes, I cannot say those work, this one is $1.77 and I bought it from iface.us – this is the real thing).

Hi all, ok, I gave it a fantastic try. I can give you a positive report. IT WORKED. Took about 3 days, I had zits all over my face and they are drying off. I say, EVERYONE get the iFace Acne Cure. I’ve spent way in the $20 range on all kinds of acne treatments, this thing seems to work, at least works better than many topical treatments. Trust me I used them all. I’m pretty convenced, Call me crazy but I am trying it on my PC also. I figured why not.

Hi you all. Thanks to Mariah up here, I did try the iFace iPhone Acne Cure . You can get it directly from http://www.iface.us/Acne My report is that I’m actually blown away. I was a total total skeptic. For sure I would NOT believe that it worked, I simply bought it figuring, what the heck. I am just blown away guys. It does work. I use it on my iPhone but because Mariah mentioned up here that perhaps anything else that has an LCD can give the same effect I recommended it to my friends and they are using it on their phones, and it’s Metro PCS with Internet, so if that worked, I figured I’ll try it on my laptop. I don’t know what did it, but my zits dried off, so I’M A BELIEVER.
