Why Does My Esthetician Do That?

Imagine: you're lying in a quiet treatment room, soft music flowing around you along with the relaxing scent of lavender. The esthetician has just finished giving your face a cleansing steam bath, and then... Ouch! Welcome to the extraction portion of your facial.

You've always been told not to pick at or pop your blemishes. So why does your esthetician insist on doing it every time you get a facial?

Blackheads and comedones can often be manually removed, or extracted, from the skin. Extractions aren't the greatest part of a facial (although your skin therapist might think otherwise!) But, when done correctly, they can improve the look of your skin.

Just don't try extracting an inflamed blemish. You can worsen the breakout and even cause scarring.

By the way, extractions don't have to hurt. If your therapist is a bit enthusiastic with her technique, don't be afraid to speak up. Your therapist wants you to be happy, and comfortable, during your entire treatment.

If you do blackheads yourself just make sure to not use your fingernails! Always use a steralized blackhead removing tool or risk spreading bacteria and making the face worse.

I don’t even understand how I stopped up right here, but I assumed this publish was once great. I do not understand who you might be but definitely you are going to a well-known blogger in the event you aren’t already. Cheers!
