Saving Money at the Skin Care Aisle

Follow me on:

I, like most people, have been taking a hard look at my finances. As a result, I've been trying to trim my budget.

A skin care product junkie, I'm learning to be a smarter shopper. Instead of spending a ton on a high end product, look for a similar one with a smaller price tag. This is where reading ingredient labels comes in handy. See if you can find a bargain alternative with the same ingredients as the high priced version. I've learned expensive moisturizers aren't a necessity, and that generic benzoyl peroxide works just as well a name brand.

I also love to make my own handmade skin care treatments. With a little time, you can learn to make luxurious treatments like Zesty Apple Body Rub, Lemon Cheesecake Mask, and Cocoa Butter Lotion Bars, for next to nothing!

Take the time to reevaluate your skin care choices, and you just may be surprised at how much money you can save.

Also, oatmeal, honey and milk masks are amazing, as are fruit enzyme masks such as pureed mango or papaya with avocado!

Sometimes handmade or homemade skin treatments may work better maybe because of the absence of synthetic materials and like you said, it can also be a money saver.
