Acne Cosmetica

Friday December 7, 2007

Many people, women especially, deal with chronic mild acne breakouts. What they are putting on their skin may be to blame. Acne cosmetica is a non-inflamed type of acne that develops when skin care products, makeup, or other topical treatments clog the pores.

Could you be suffering from this common form of acne? Learn how to identify and treat acne cosmetica.

I used to have really awful acne. someone told me that green tea was effective (not to put on but to drink!) and it’s made a massive difference. My doctor said that I needed to use a prescription that contained accutane and it really dried my skin. Then I moved on to using an over the counter cream that contained benzoyl peroxide which wasn’t so bad but was still pretty drying. The green tea has reduced the inflamation by about 50% and I’ve only been using it for about 6 months (I did have to be patient as these things take time). Anyway I would say to anyone by all means use the chemical creams but give the natural products a chance. J
