Study Confirms Stress Makes Teen Acne Worse

Wednesday August 1, 2007

You've always suspected it, but now a recent study confirms it: stress does indeed worsen acne in teens. This landmark study, published in the March 2007 issue of Acta Dermato-Venereologica, is the first to identify a link between emotional stress and an increase in acne breakouts.

The study, completed by researchers at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, proves that acne can be triggered independently of oil production on the skin. This may open the door to a new way of thinking when it comes to acne and its triggers.
